I am taking self-portraits continuously and in an obsessive way. But my ego, my existence goes beyond my appearance or my thought. I exist in relation to the "Other", thanks to which I am the one who I am. Through the "Other" I see myself.
My union with the "Other" is not always the same; the "Other" also is the different one. So I try to shorten the differences, I look for that one "Other" that is nearer to me. That one with I share...

I am taking self-portraits continuously and in an obsessive way. But my ego, my existence goes beyond my appearance or my thought. I exist in relation to the "Other", thanks to which I am the one who I am. Through the "Other" I see myself.
My union with the "Other" is not always the same; the "Other" also is the different one. So I try to shorten the differences, I look for that one "Other" that is nearer to me. That one with I share race, religion and culture, that one that is defined in the same way that I am, my people.
Nevertheless If I photographed my close people, my relatives, they would prevent me to see myself clearly. Since my prejudices and my knowledge of their realities would be a heavy slab. Because of this I photograph persons whom I do not know and with whom I do not exchange a single word. But those that in spite of this I feel like analogous.
That is how I decided photograph my hometown and mainly his people.
